Position Overview:

True North Home Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Nurse Assistant to oversee our team of Professional Care Providers. The CNA Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring quality care and reports directly to the Office Manager and CEO, who is a Registered Nurse. All care providers and CNAs will look to the CNA Supervisor for guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train new Care Providers (caregivers).
  • Facilitate a comprehensive orientation and onboarding process for all new hires to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles in non-medical home care.
  • Provide skills training to both CNAs and unlicensed care providers, covering essential tasks such as assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), hoyer lift operations, catheter care, and more.
  • Assist the CEO and Office Manager/Scheduler with administrative tasks and step in as a care provider when staffing needs arise.
  • Address challenges such as high employee turnover rates, unpredictable scheduling, and the need for flexibility in response to client needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Office Manager or CEO.

Qualifications:

  • Active CNA License; LPN is also acceptable. (CMA, MA, and phlebotomist certifications are not accepted).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent CNA competencies.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle client and employee feedback with professionalism.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with potential shifts as early as 7 AM and as late as 11 PM.
  • Current Driver's License and active car insurance.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based work with occasional field duties.
  • Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with a weekend on-call rotation.
  • May require working evenings or covering shifts as needed.
  • Overtime may be necessary.
  • Quiet office environment with a designated workspace.
  • Regular interviews for care providers will be part of the daily routine.
  • Must be comfortable working in environments with pets.
  • Ability to travel within the service area is required.
