The Premium Audit Department of The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is actively seeking a premium auditor to assess property casualty commercial lines policies, ensuring appropriate classifications, exposures, and premium bases. Develop earned premiums in compliance with company, industry, and governmental regulations.

It is essential for the candidate to reside within the designated territory.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 annually. The pay determination is influenced by the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on both company and individual performance.

Responsibilities include:
  • traveling to commercial clients to conduct audits
  • developing earned premiums in accordance with company, industry, and governmental regulations
  • verifying premium bases by reviewing ledgers, state or federal quarterly records, financial statements, and other accounting documents
  • investigating and establishing correct policy classifications through personal interviews and physical inspections of the insured's premises
  • documenting changes in the insured's operations
  • preparing and submitting comprehensive reports within established time frames
  • interacting with agents and associates to communicate and support audit findings
Required qualifications:
  • demonstrated ability to work independently
  • strong organizational skills
  • effective communication abilities
  • solid analytical skills
  • comprehensive knowledge of the property casualty business and products
  • underwriting experience
  • proficient automation skills
Preferred education or experience:
  • degree in insurance, accounting, or a related field
  • industry designation, Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
  • experience in insurance or risk management
