RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST INCLUDE:
- Assisting in the planning and evaluation of direct nursing care for residents.
- Serving as a Charge Nurse, overseeing the duties of certified nursing assistants.
Performing nursing tasks that contribute to:
- Maintaining residents' personal hygiene.
- Meeting residents' nutritional requirements.
- Restoring normal elimination processes.
- Ensuring proper body alignment and tissue health.
Transcribing physician orders and assisting with medical rounds.
Monitoring and accurately reporting changes in resident conditions to the RN Supervisor and attending physician.
Contributing to the development and execution of resident care plans while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Supporting therapeutic efforts by implementing restorative nursing measures in collaboration with other services.
Administering treatments and nursing interventions as prescribed by physicians and outlined in the resident care plan.
Documenting observations meticulously and communicating them to relevant parties as necessary.
Applying comfort and safety measures effectively to meet residents' needs.
Administering medications in accordance with established policies and procedures, including controlled substances.
