Position Overview:
At RiseTek Global, LLC, we focus on developing innovative hardware solutions that integrate advanced firmware and software technologies.
Our team continuously enhances and evaluates our products in a controlled environment to uncover any bugs, reliability concerns, or performance bottlenecks.
As a Firmware Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of top-notch software and platforms for our product lines.
Your responsibilities will include crafting and executing comprehensive test plans and cases across various products and platforms, collaborating with engineering teams to identify and rectify defects.
You will also be tasked with diagnosing issues throughout the hardware and software stack, which includes consumer electronics, mobile applications, and web interfaces.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end software/firmware testing infrastructure to facilitate testing of power management, boot loaders, scheduling, RTOS, and/or bare-metal implementations, along with host tools.
- Collaborate with the team to establish testing strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage across diverse technologies and areas, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing.
- Analyze software, firmware, hardware, and intellectual property architectures to ensure testability and assess integration risks.
- Create software and associated tools to automate testing across a wide array of devices and interfaces, from host-side tools to low-level embedded systems.
- Support all stages of development, including early architecture requirements for custom silicon, firmware architecture, implementation, simulation, FPGA debugging, chip bring-up, and collaboration with systems and software teams.
- Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, documenting defects, and working closely with cross-functional teams (Development and Infrastructure).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and diagnostic tools, such as oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and power supplies.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, including CI/CD.
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in integration and testing of complex systems.
- Knowledge of low-level operating systems, RTOS, UBOOT, or other bare-metal programming.
- Experience with coding for peripherals such as UART, SPI, CSI-2, I2C, GPIO, USB, and PCIe.
- Experience in real-time processing for computer vision and user interaction tasks, as well as high-compute/throughput systems.
- Familiarity with FPGA and hardware evaluation boards, EDA design tools, and/or ISA simulators.
- Experience with C/C++ in embedded systems.
