About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with a range of medical conditions, including those related to surgery and anesthesia.
  • Monitor and manage patient pain, ensuring effective pain management and minimizing discomfort.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to other healthcare professionals, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Document patient care and outcomes, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, obtained within 12 months of hire date.
  • BLS Provider certification, obtained within 1 month of hire date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, obtained within 12 months of hire date.
  • Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) Degree or Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or RN Diploma at start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative setting.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications, obtained within 6 months of hire date.
