Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regulatory Board Director to join our team at the State of Tennessee. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing administrative and supervisory support to our regulatory boards, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our programs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  2. Lead assigned subordinates in handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts with others.
  3. Lead assigned subordinates in performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  4. Lead assigned subordinates in monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, and the environment to detect and assess problems.
  5. Lead assigned subordinates in getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.
  6. Leverage developmental opportunities and motivational factors to improve team development and the performance of assigned subordinates.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience equivalent to three years of full-time work in one or a combination of the following: supervisory experience over staff who determine licensure eligibility for regulatory boards, managerial experience over staff, or administrative experience directing a program.
  • Substitution of experience for education: qualifying supervisory experience over staff who determine licensure eligibility for regulatory boards, managerial experience over staff, or administrative experience directing a program may be substituted for the required education to a maximum of four years.
  • Substitution of education for experience: additional graduate coursework may be substituted for the required experience, on a month-for-month basis to a maximum of two years.

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Experience as an Admin Services Assistant with the State of Tennessee.

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
