Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care to our feline patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including monitoring hospitalized pets and preparing patients for surgery.
  • Perform routine in-house laboratory work, including taking and developing radiographs, and obtaining blood and stool samples.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the animal and the client.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and practice team members to ensure seamless patient care and client satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work on weekends as required.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
