O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Center Operations Manager in Training to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the DC manager in directing the day-to-day operations of a single distribution center.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the DC manager in overseeing all aspects of a single distribution center, including service, physical assets, operating costs, and team members.
- Ensure day-to-day compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist the DC manager in maintaining payroll, budgeting, inventory integrity, productivity, and other key performance indicators.
- Provide training, guidance, and counseling as needed to each DC team member.
- Manage a staff of 1-15 supervisors and up to 300 hourly team members.
- Provide excellent leadership throughout the DC and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
- Work with the DC manager to establish annual goals and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals.
- Collaborate with the DC manager and human resources to support team members and others as needed to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
- Responsible for on-time evaluations of all team members.
- Assist the DC manager with planning to prepare the annual operating budget.
- Work with each supervisor to monitor expenditures within the department and coordinate with the DC manager for approval on any expenditure.
- Work with the DC manager to obtain approval on all expenses exceeding $1,000.
- Provide a safe working environment and aggressively manage all risk and risk-related costs.
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Above-average computer skills
- 2+ years' experience as a distribution center supervisor with a proven record of success
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple departments within one center
- College degree or logistics certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)
