About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Visualization Engineer to join our team at Netflix. As a key member of our Data Science & Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge data visualization products that support our content, marketing, and advertising teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop interactive and intuitive data visualization applications using front-end technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate data visualization products with our data pipelines and analytics tools.
  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data visualization solutions that meet their needs.
  • Partner with R&D teams to bring new metrics, models, and data sources to Netflix.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable data visualization products that meet the needs of our users.
Requirements
  • Strong experience with front-end development, data visualization, and JavaScript (TypeScript encouraged).
  • Experience with component frameworks such as React or D3.
  • Knowledge of trade-offs between different chart types and ability to make good decisions on how to best represent various types of data.
  • Passion for designing, building, and iterating on interfaces with a strong sense of the entire user experience.
  • Experience working with data from various sources, including API endpoints and relational databases.
  • Motivated to explore new technologies and comfortable with self-directed learning.
  • Familiarity with data-centric teams on metrics and analytics, and basic statistical knowledge and intuition.
