Job Title: Quality Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team at Zodiac Pool Systems. As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality inspections and tests on incoming and in-process materials to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Analyze and disposition of non-conforming materials, including writing NCMRs and documenting corrective actions.
  • Interact with material handlers, receiving, production planning/scheduling, and inventory control teams to ensure accurate and efficient processing of non-conforming materials.
  • Perform routine quality and safety audits, and conduct inspections for compliance with specifications using blueprints, drawings, and inspection procedures.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections at various checkpoints during maintenance activities, and interpret inspection acceptance/rejection criteria to identify discrepancies and non-conformances.
  • Develop, write, review, and approve inspection, examination, and testing procedures, and evaluate the adequacy of such procedures to accomplish the inspection, examination, and test objectives.
  • Assist in developing new procedural controls to address the quality control aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform independent oversight of S.R. Smith programs and processes through use of performance-based techniques, and submit written and verbal reports of the conclusions of the assessments.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of quality control inspection experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience in MRB and RMA areas, including analysis and disposition of product, and accurate segregation to prevent unintended use.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications/drawings for disposition of products.
  • Interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills sufficient to organize, maintain, and collaborate with other departments to accurately complete paperwork.
  • Extreme attention-to-detail, especially in the documentation of Non-Conforming product, Corrective Actions, and disposition of materials.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as email.
  • Basic knowledge of measurement instruments, such as microscopes, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • Good arithmetic skills required.
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Forklift driver certification a plus.
