Position Overview
As a vital member of the campus community, the Campus Police Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of all individuals on campus. This position involves patrolling the college grounds and facilities to deter criminal activity, maintain order, and enforce institutional regulations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings and outdoor areas to prevent theft, vandalism, and policy violations.
2. Prepare detailed incident reports and provide testimony in legal proceedings as required.
3. Perform building inspections, including locking and unlocking facilities according to established schedules and requests.
4. Enforce traffic regulations, manage parking, and respond to vehicular incidents.
5. Provide security for special events and functions as assigned.
6. Respond to various alarms, including fire and intrusion alerts, and assist in conducting safety drills.
7. Collaborate with investigative personnel on criminal cases and incidents.
8. Participate in the training of new officers.
9. Be available for overtime and emergency response as needed.
10. Attend mandatory training sessions to maintain certification and skills.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree or higher in criminal justice or a related field, along with relevant work experience. Successful completion of a police training program is required, as well as the ability to pass psychological and physical evaluations.

Preferred Attributes
- Experience in a college or university policing environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays.

Skills and Competencies
The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, discretion in handling sensitive information, and the ability to manage challenging situations professionally. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the capability to interpret and present information effectively.

Physical Requirements
Officers must be prepared to work in various weather conditions and may encounter hazardous situations. A successful background check, including criminal history and driving record, is mandatory.

Licenses and Certifications
The candidate must meet state regulations for police officers, complete an accredited police academy program, and maintain a valid driver's license. Additional certifications in CPR and First Aid are also required.
