Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Floater is responsible for providing continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings, including critical care, medical-surgical, and women's services. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient advocacy and implement the interdisciplinary plan of care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to educate patients and their support systems
  • Analyze and modify strategies to progress patients through their plan of care
  • Ensure completion of nursing interventions, medical orders, and other related therapies
  • Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; 4-year Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care or ED setting required for Team 1; minimum of 1 year of general medical-surgical/telemetry experience required for Team 2; minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, or NICU required for Team 3
  • Current compact RN licensure in applicable state required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NVCI certification required; additional certifications preferred
