Job Summary:
Soliant is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Yorktown, VA. As a school-based SLP, you will be responsible for assessing students referred for possible speech and language needs, providing individual and/or group therapy sessions, and developing individualized education plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs, utilizing standardized assessments and clinical judgment to identify areas of strength and weakness.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student, including goals and objectives for speech and language development.
- Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions to students with identified speech and language disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
- Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns, providing guidance and support to ensure students receive comprehensive services.
- Maintain accurate records for all students on the caseload, including progress notes, IEPs, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide reports of student progress to parents, including regular updates on student goals and objectives.
- Organize student caseload and develop a schedule for each assigned school, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Develop resource materials for use in speech and language development, including lesson plans, activities, and other educational materials.
Requirements:
- Virginia SLP license
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of Virginia Special Education procedures and best practices for SLPs in school settings
- Professionalism and accountability
