Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team at NY CREATES. As a key member of our Electronic Photonic Design Automation (EPDA) / Design Enablement group, you will play a critical role in advancing the development of Silicon Photonics technologies.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing hands-on RF and thermal simulations and modeling for Process Design Kit (PDK) Components in AIM Photonics Silicon Photonics technologies.
  • Developing and extracting compact models, designing, and laying out test structures and enabling components in AIM Photonics' PDK offerings.
  • Conducting data analysis, design, and layout of test structures on test sites.
  • Contributing to AIM Photonics publications and proposals.

Requirements:

  • MS with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Hands-on experience in RF modeling and simulation in one or more areas: Packaging, Interconnects, Passive components, Transistors, High-speed Electro-Optic modulators.
  • Experience with one or more EDA tools such as Ansys/Cadence/Synopsys/ADS.
  • Design and layout of test structures in one or more EDA platforms.
  • Experience in designing RF measurement test plans and analyzing data.
  • Understanding of Chip and Assembly processes.
  • Willingness to work in Silicon Photonics area.
  • Experience with scripting or other data analysis tools.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD + 2-5 years' experience in RF, Thermal modeling and simulation.
  • Experience with electro-optic RF and thermal simulations in EDA platforms in Silicon Photonics technology.
  • Experience building and contributing to PDKs for Silicon Photonics Packaging Technologies.
  • Experience developing RF components in Assembly Design Kit for Interposer Technologies.

We offer a competitive salary range of $105,000-$160,000, depending on education and experience. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance, flexible health spending and dependent care accounts, basic and optional life insurance, post-retirement health insurance, and an employer contribution of 7% of earnings to a basic retirement plan after meeting one year of service.
