Job Title: Swim Instructor

At the YMCA of Southwest Florida, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality swim lessons to children and adults of all levels and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach swim lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels
  • Ensure the safety of participants in your classes
  • Work collaboratively with the Aquatics Coordinator/Director to develop and implement swim programs
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions
  • Perform life-saving techniques as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of background screening
  • Proficiency in swimming strokes and ability to instruct and demonstrate in a group or individual session
  • Ability to perform life-saving techniques
  • Ability to forge mutually respectful partnerships with participants
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-starter with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Adherence to drug/alcohol/smoke-free workplace policy
Certifications and Training:
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer/First Aid/AED Certifications
  • WSI and/or YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent
  • Completion of the YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogen's training annually
  • Completion of the YMCA's Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training annually
Salary:

$22.00 to $24.00 per hour
