PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The Saw Operator plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration within the department. This position involves close coordination with the Assistant Coordinator regarding daily production targets, operational efficiency, workplace cleanliness, safety protocols, and the training of fellow employees. The Saw Operator is also responsible for enhancing productivity through effective wood reclaiming practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND DAILY TASKS
- Operates and sets up the assigned saw, ensuring thorough cleanup.
- Understands the required grade and quality, inspecting finished products for compliance.
- Maintains accurate and legible production reports.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance among team members.
- Interprets assigned job orders effectively.
- Operates relevant equipment and provides training to colleagues on equipment usage.
- Reports progress to Production Management regularly.
- Collaborates with general laborers to ensure smooth operations.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by management.
COMPETENCIES
- Possesses advanced knowledge of all machinery and equipment utilized in primary job functions.
- Maintains necessary certifications for equipment operation as required.
- Demonstrates teamwork by balancing individual and team responsibilities.
- Ensures quality by exhibiting accuracy and thoroughness in work.
- Meets productivity standards and strives for increased efficiency.
- Displays consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Follows instructions and responds positively to management direction.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
- 90% of work is conducted outdoors, subject to weather conditions, noise, and dust.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
PAY AND BENEFITS
- Compensation starting at $20.20 per hour.
- Comprehensive benefits package available after 90 days of full-time employment.
SCHEDULE
- 10-hour shifts
- 4x10 schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime opportunities available
EXPERIENCE
- Preferred experience in manufacturing: 1 year.
WORK LOCATION
This position requires in-person attendance.
