Mobile CTE Lab Driver

Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is seeking a part-time Mobile CTE Lab Driver to support the State of Louisiana's educational initiatives. This role is located in the Academic Affairs/Carl Perkins Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport the Mobile CTE Lab to regional outreach events and activities, ensuring timely and safe delivery of educational resources.
  • Maintain the safe operation and upkeep of the Mobile Lab and equipment, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Complete pre- and post-operation checklists to ensure vehicle and trailer compliance with safety standards, minimizing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and execute efficient routes to and from event locations, optimizing travel time and reducing fuel consumption.
  • Keep accurate written logs of vehicle mileage, operating hours, and maintenance, facilitating data-driven decision making and vehicle management.
  • Transport the vehicle to and from vendors for maintenance, repair, and fueling, ensuring prompt and reliable service.
  • Maintain generator performance and battery life, ensuring continuous operation and minimizing downtime.
  • Safely operate all vehicle functions, including on-board generator, vehicle leveling mechanism, and interior lighting and power, prioritizing driver and passenger safety.
  • Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and presentable, reflecting positively on the State of Louisiana and BRCC.
  • Promptly report any performance and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate department, facilitating prompt resolution and minimizing disruption.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Class CDL-B License holder per LA DOTD R.S. 32:408 B.(2)(a) and 405.1
  • Minimum of three years of over-the-road experience
  • Excellent driving record with no recorded moving violations in the past four years
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Class CDL-A License holder per LA DOTD R.S. 32:408 B.(2)(b) and 405
