Job Summary

The RN Shift Coordinator is a key member of the UofL Health team, responsible for providing support and working collaboratively with the Clinical Manager and Director. This role is an extension of the Clinical Manager and is empowered to address issues and concerns on their respective shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with staffing and scheduling to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Improve patient experience by rounding on patients and providing service recovery on their shift.
  • Ensure compliance with established metrics and standards.
  • Act as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Participate in the staff interview process and retention of staff.
  • Provide feedback for and assist with the writing and delivering of performance reviews.
  • Provide coaching and counseling as appropriate.
  • On-call for scheduled weekends to work.
  • Actively participate on unit committees and other unit meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Previous Charge Nurse or Leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • National certification in specialty or nursing administration is preferred.
  • ICU Experience.
