Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team at Seneca Resources. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining network and telephone systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install network and telephone cabling, terminate and test cabling for optimal operation, and install telephone sets and test for proper operation.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot voice and data issues to determine if repair or replacement is needed.
  • Travel and Site Work: Travel to various state prison facilities throughout Alabama to perform tasks and responsibilities, and work in contact with male and female inmates.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent, and 12 months of experience in the telephone or network field.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proven experience working as a Network and Telecommunications Technician, sound knowledge of Network and Telecommunications systems, and knowledge of standard network and telephony cable coloring schemes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: One year of postsecondary education program in Telecommunications, Telecommunications Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Quick thinking, self-motivated, and knowledge of standard network and telephony cable coloring schemes.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 60 pounds.
  • Working Environment: Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces, and ability to work at heights or in awkward positions.
