The Logistics Specialist / Forklift Operator is essential for managing incoming shipments at Beauty Manufacture Solutions Corp. This role is crucial in maintaining an effective and seamless flow of products into our inventory system. The successful candidate will be tasked with accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments while collaborating with various departments to ensure prompt processing. A keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational capabilities, and the ability to excel in a dynamic environment are key attributes for this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify incoming shipments of goods and materials, ensuring all deliveries are complete and accurate.
  • Conduct inspections of received items for any damages, discrepancies, or defects, reporting findings to the relevant internal teams and properly documenting issues on shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Cross-check quantities received against purchase orders or shipping documents and update inventory records as necessary.
  • Label received items appropriately to enhance identification, tracking, and inventory management.
  • Organize and categorize received items for optimal storage and retrieval.
  • Work with warehouse personnel to prioritize and allocate space for incoming stock.
  • Communicate effectively with Purchasing, Sales, and freight carriers to address any delivery challenges or discrepancies.
  • Assist in resolving inventory discrepancies through thorough documentation and investigation.
  • Manage the return process for defective, damaged, or incorrect items to suppliers in accordance with established protocols, including initiating return authorizations and updating inventory records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for the movement and transfer of pallets from the incoming quarantine area.
  • Operate pallet jacks to facilitate the movement and storage of incoming shipments as required.
  • Optional operation of forklifts may be necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety policies. This includes following proper lifting techniques and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Inventory Control teams to ensure the accurate and timely processing of received goods.
  • Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and audits as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Warehouse management.
  • Travel to other company locations may be necessary for job completion, training, and team development.
  • Adaptability is essential, as job requirements may evolve to meet changing business needs.

Qualifications

Technical Skills Required

  • Proficient in computer usage and basic software applications for data entry and inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing and recording inventory.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or a related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Stand-up/Reach Forklift certification or relevant experience is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed to meet business demands.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, and heavy machinery.
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
