QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Educational Background: Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Technician/Technologist Program.
- Training: Must have completed the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification or an equivalent Ocular or Ophthalmic Technician training program through the U.S. military.
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) is required.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of practical experience as an Ophthalmic Technician/Technologist post-graduation.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform all necessary duties as outlined in the contract.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Services are provided Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday shifts.
- Work hours range from 0730 to 1800, typically in 8.5 to 9-hour shifts, including a 30 to 60-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Maximum of 80 hours of service within a two-week period.
- Specific schedules will be coordinated by the designated government representative.
- Work schedules will be communicated one month in advance.
