Ophthalmology Technician/Technologist Bremerton Naval Health Center

{"Job Title": "Ophthalmology Technician/Technologist", "Job Summary": "We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmology Technician/Technologist to join our team at Bremerton Naval Health Center. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of duties to assist the optometrist/ophthalmologist, including obtaining patient histories, performing prescription verification, and maintaining patient records.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in testing patient vision, including far and near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
* Examine the eye, using a slit lamp, for abnormalities of the cornea and anterior and posterior chambers.
* Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
* Measure intraocular pressure of eyes (glaucoma test).
* Test the field of vision for defects, including central and peripheral vision, and chart test results on graph paper.
* Measure the axial length of the eye using ultrasound equipment.
* Instruct patients concerning eye care and contact lens handling.
Requirements:
* Certificate in ophthalmology technician or optometric technician course.
* Current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.
* One year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician/Technologist after graduation.
