Job Title: Vascular Technologist

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team in the Vascular Medicine-Heart Vascular & Thoracic Institute. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing ultrasound studies specific to veins and arteries, including carotid, aorta, mesenteric, renal, and celiac; cardiac mapping; and pulse volume recordings.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform ultrasound studies using advanced equipment and techniques to diagnose vascular conditions.
  • Review patient history, obtain current patient history, and determine the appropriate procedure(s) necessary for proper diagnosis.
  • Notify physicians of abnormal findings and prepare patient for examination, explaining procedure and assisting patient on/off examination table as required.
  • Maintain accurate testing documentation in patient medical record and file copy of all examinations performed.
  • Assist with interpretation of study results and provide technical guidance to less experienced technologists.
  • Correlate non-invasive vascular laboratory study results with other diagnostic studies performed.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an appropriate allied health program leading to a degree or certificate in the application of non-invasive cardiovascular ultrasound techniques.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or other appropriate national certification.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision and demonstrate proficiency with non-invasive vascular laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Good verbal and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and physicians.
  • Ability to teach others and function in a variety of medical situations.
