Job Summary

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5 is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Migrant Education Recruiter to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in identifying, recruiting, and enrolling eligible migrant children and out-of-school youth in accordance with the Migrant Education state and local site recruitment plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures relevant to the Migrant Education Program.
  • Provide instructional support and intervention for students through their schools, homes, and appropriate service agencies.
  • Act as an advocate for the Migrant Education Program and migrant students by explaining the components of the program to parents, schools, government, social service agencies, and other appropriate community agencies.
  • Maintain all required and appropriate records and necessary documentation accurately.
  • Interpret and translate (oral or written) for parents, staff, and school personnel as a supplemental service as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency.
  • Bilingual, in Spanish Preferred.
  • Valid PA Driver's License.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, or related area.
  • Experience with accessing regional support services.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience as a teacher or caseworker or other experience involving the direct services to children and young adults.
  • Working knowledge of Migrant Education Program and services.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Incumbent must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment with a vast majority of the time utilizing computers to complete daily tasks. Due to travel outside of the home office, candidates are required to have a vehicle and valid driver's license to attend job-related duties, meetings, seminars, and trainings.
