Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESOL Assistant to provide support to limited English proficient students in the basic subject areas of Math, Science, and Social Studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and experience working with school age children and youth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to limited English proficient students in the basic subject areas of Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Use English and, when necessary for understanding, the native language of the student to facilitate learning.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to support students' language development and academic achievement.
  • Assist with classroom management and organization to create a positive and productive learning environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education.
  • Experience working with school age children and youth in any capacity preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver License required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with ESOL students.
  • Knowledge of child development and education principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
