Position Overview:

This role serves as an entry to intermediate level Airport Firefighter, dedicated to delivering Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) services as mandated by federal regulations. The primary responsibility includes providing emergency response and firefighting support for various incidents occurring in and around the airport vicinity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergencies such as aircraft accidents, medical emergencies involving passengers, vehicular accidents, hazardous material incidents, and mass casualty situations.
  • Assist in maintaining airport operations, ensuring security, and performing airfield upkeep, including snow removal and wildlife management.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs on airfield lighting, signage, and other critical equipment.
  • Participate in training sessions to acquire and maintain necessary certifications, including FAA 139 compliance, firefighting, EMT, and CPR training.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on emergency vehicles and firefighting equipment.
  • Execute airport security checks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide emergency medical assistance and act decisively in crisis situations.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates should possess knowledge of firefighting techniques, rescue operations, and emergency medical procedures. Skills in operating firefighting equipment and effective communication are essential. The ability to work as part of a team and follow emergency protocols is critical.
