About the Role
The Greenlining Institute is seeking a bold, strategic, and collaborative leader for the position of Vice President of People and Culture Development (VP P&CD). This role is pivotal in advancing our mission of economic opportunity and empowering communities of color. The VP P&CD will ensure the organization meets its mission and financial goals while positioning for strategic growth with a steadfast commitment to equity. This leadership position is responsible for driving people-centric strategies that support staff throughout their employment journey, fostering a culture that aligns with our mission, and providing leadership development opportunities, particularly for participants of the Leadership Academy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the President to oversee the strategic and operational activities of Talent Development functions, including Human Resources, Payroll, and the Leadership Academy.
  • Organizational Influence: Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions that impact the organization.
  • Cultural Advocacy: Champion GLI's values and promote a culture of inclusion, driving a strong, innovative organizational culture.
  • Workforce Management: Directly supervise senior staff and foster engagement, commitment, and professional development among team members.
  • Union Relations: Navigate complexities of unionization and collective bargaining, ensuring compliance and maintaining positive labor relations.
  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the President and Board on fundraising initiatives and manage the division's budget to meet organizational needs.
  • Communications Strategy: Develop and implement a coordinated communications strategy to effectively promote the organization’s mission and goals.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in an executive role with a proven track record in organizational development and human resources.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing equity and inclusion.
  • Strong expertise in HR practices, unionization, and collective bargaining.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to represent the organization effectively.
  • Experience in fiscal management and fundraising.

This position reports to the President and CEO and is classified as Salaried, Exempt (FLSA). The scope of responsibilities may evolve as organizational needs change.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience, with comprehensive benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance. A 5% annual salary match for the 401(k) retirement plan is provided, along with a supportive work-life balance through a 35-hour work week and hybrid work options.
