Position Overview
The IaaS Systems and Storage & Engineering (ISSE) team operates within the Operations & Infrastructure technology sector at Visa.

To design and construct dependable and secure infrastructure for diverse workloads in Private/Hybrid Cloud environments, leveraging innovative technologies at optimal costs.

To accelerate innovation for developers while minimizing infrastructure maintenance burdens.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our cloud infrastructure engineering team, you will:
- Integrate and implement leading-edge technologies and management solutions for on-premises container platforms and public cloud services, with a focus on Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
- Take full responsibility for the solutions provided to clients, ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of applications on the engineered infrastructure.
- Define and promote standard foundational services for Visa's public cloud initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders to design and implement solutions that prioritize security, cost-effectiveness, and enhanced developer productivity.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong background in Linux operating systems, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions on major public cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Golang, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD processes for development and deployment, along with contributions to open-source projects.
- A proven track record of delivering secure, highly available, and scalable infrastructure solutions and associated automation.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role, with expectations to work from the office 2-3 days a week based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications include:
- 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 7 years with an Advanced Degree, or 4 years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred qualifications encompass:
- 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years with an Advanced Degree.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience as a DevOps engineer with a focus on automating infrastructure deployment.
- Expertise in managing production container ecosystems, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering challenges independently.
Additional Information
This position may require travel 5-10% of the time and will be performed in an office setting, necessitating the ability to sit and stand at a desk and operate standard office equipment.
