Job Title: General Manager

Crunch Fitness by Premier Fitness is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our team and drive business growth.

Job Summary:

The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service and facilities for our members, achieving financial targets, and motivating and leading a team of employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administration/Organization:
    • Ensure a working knowledge of all standard operating procedures and policies.
    • Communicate and implement club policies and procedures to employees.
    • Encourage staff to work as a team and be productive.
    • Make decisions and recruit high-caliber staff.
  • Sales/Revenue Management:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve desired sales goals.
    • Achieve revenue goals through leadership and motivation of employees.
    • Implement and support company programs and promotions to generate new sales leads.
    • Ensure proper tracking of leads and promotions.
  • Personal Training/Revenue Management:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage the personal training department to achieve desired revenue and session production goals.
    • Achieve revenue and production results through leadership and motivation of employees.
    • Implement and support company programs and promotions to generate new personal training clients.
    • Facilitate integration of personal training products into point-of-sale presentations.
  • Operations:
    • Coordinate and work within club support functions of Fitness, Sales, and Marketing, Accounting, and Information Technology.
    • Support personnel-related problems or difficulties by following club procedure and documentation.
    • Resolve member complaints in an expeditious and tactful manner.
    • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to members.
    • Ensure the club meets standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security.
  • Financial:
    • Exhibit an understanding of budgets and income statements.
    • Establish controls of expenses and purchasing of club supplies.
    • Display an ability to keep expenses at or below budget.
    • Demonstrate an ability to articulate variances in revenue/sales/expenses versus budget.
  • Leadership/Motivation:
    • Serve as a role model for employees.
    • Communicate effectively by holding weekly and individual meetings with all key club personnel.
    • Provide an inspirational environment that welcomes honest feedback from employees and takes action to ensure a quality working environment.
    • Oversee, support, direct, and develop department heads.
  • Profit Centers:
    • Illustrate an ability to drive profit center revenue such as personal training, retail, etc.
    • Monitor flagged check-ins to increase revenue and collections.
    • Demonstrate an ability to increase revenue per member.
  • Meetings:
    • Hold monthly or weekly department meetings.
    • Conduct employee training meetings.
    • Hold daily one-minute meetings with club staff.
    • Meet with the personal training manager daily.
    • Attend weekly club management meetings.
    • Conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Accountabilities:
    • Implement and support company programs and promotions to help generate new sales leads.
    • Oversee expense goals by managing payroll and general and administrative expenses.
    • Ensure the club meets Crunch standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, security, and physical plant operations.
    • Keep current in knowledge of key competitors.
    • Conduct frequent walk-throughs.
  • Measurement Standards:
    • Successful management of all financial budgetary goals.
    • Ensure standards of club cleanliness and customer service excellence.
    • Demonstrate professionalism by leading by example.
    • Membership retention.
    • Timely completion of assigned tasks and projects.
    • Follow all policies and procedures.
