Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) role is to deliver comprehensive health care, education, and training to clients within a clinical setting. This role requires professionalism, empathy, and a positive attitude in all forms of communication, whether verbal, written, or non-verbal. The aim is to encourage trauma-informed practices, ensure suicide-safe care, and create a supportive environment that upholds racial and health equity. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders are essential. The LVN operates under the administrative guidance of the Program Manager or Practice Manager at their designated work site and under the clinical supervision of the program's designated RN Supervisor. This position allows for moderate independence and initiative in decision-making.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of the Nurse Practice Act.
- Familiarity with nursing techniques and protocols.
- Awareness of community services and resources relevant to the target demographic.
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment options appropriate for the target population.
- Expertise in developing health-related curricula.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultural and socio-economic groups on sensitive issues, fostering health-centered service relationships with clients.
- Capability to provide clinical training to other nursing staff and/or Phlebotomists.
- Proficiency in medication dosage calculations.
- Computer literacy for documentation using appropriate automated systems.
Regular and predictable attendance is a fundamental requirement for this position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned, and a flexible work schedule may be necessary.

- Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
Licensure:

- Current LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) license in Texas.
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Work Schedule: Full-Time.
Workdays: Varies by rotation.
Work Hours: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
Compensation: $34.64 per hour based on years of licensure, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
