Special Education Teacher for Multi-Categorical Autism Programs

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree along with a valid teaching certification in Multi-Categorical Special Education with Autism and either Elementary Education K-6 or Multi-Subjects K-8 or English 5-12, as appropriate for the role. Candidates must demonstrate the capability to effectively manage an educational program tailored for middle school learners.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create a classroom environment that promotes learning.
2. Design instructional strategies and allocate class time to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
3. Teach students in accordance with state laws, curriculum standards, and local educational board guidelines.
4. Provide personalized instruction in both individual and small group settings as needed.
5. Modify educational materials to accommodate students with diverse learning needs.
6. Establish and uphold behavior standards necessary for a constructive learning atmosphere.
7. Oversee students during extracurricular activities throughout the school day, as required.
8. Assess each student's academic performance and development; track progress towards educational goals; prepare performance reports.
9. Engage with parents and school counselors regarding student achievements; foster positive relationships among students, parents, and educators.
10. Maintain accurate attendance records and fulfill administrative responsibilities as necessary.
11. Act as a resource for collaboration across departments.
12. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local educational regulations.
13. Arrive at the school premises prior to the start of the day and remain after school hours as needed.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned by the school principal based on needs.

EMPLOYMENT TERM:
Contract for the academic year with a standard duration of 200 days.

SALARY:
Compensation is determined by experience and educational qualifications, aligned with the established salary schedule, including a competitive benefits package.

SUPERVISION:
Reports directly to the Principal and the Director of Special Programs.

BID PERIOD:
Open for a specified duration.
