Fire Safety Compliance Inspector

Position: Fire Protection Inspector
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct inspections of water-based fire protection systems and fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards. The objective is to enhance inspection revenue while ensuring profitability, meeting customer expectations, and adhering to NFPA regulations.
This role demands a proactive approach in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment, focusing on customer relations, high-quality performance, and a thorough understanding of NFPA codes relevant to fire protection systems. Travel to various client sites is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of wet fire protection systems and communicate findings to clients and service managers for necessary repairs.
- Perform inspections using man lifts at heights ranging from 30 to 40 feet as required.
- Execute annual inspections on both domestic and fire backflow systems.
- Oversee and ensure the timely completion of all assigned tasks.
- Prepare and submit all work tickets and inspection reports to administrative staff promptly.
- Manage self-scheduling for daily inspection activities.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Experience in conducting NFPA 25 inspections on wet, dry, deluge, pre-action systems, and fire pumps.
- Proficiency in NFPA 25 inspections for standpipe systems and fire hydrants.
- Familiarity with NFPA 72 inspections for fire alarm systems, including all system components.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; vocational training or industry-specific education is advantageous.
- Knowledge of operational characteristics of various fire protection systems, including wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, and fire pumps.
- Possession of an individual backflow license and NICET Level II certification in water-based or fire alarm systems is preferred.
- Basic mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Capability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain all necessary certifications, including NICET.
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
