We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to provide therapy services to students with a variety of physical and developmental disabilities. The Physical Therapist will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance students' physical functioning, mobility, and overall well-being in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' physical abilities, needs, and functional limitations.
* Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
* Provide direct therapy services, including exercises, activities, and interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, and coordination.
* Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other therapists to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational programs.
* Monitor and document students' progress, adjust therapy plans as necessary, and provide regular updates to parents and educational staff.
* Participate in IEP meetings to discuss students' progress and contribute to the development of educational goals.
* Educate and train school staff, parents, and caregivers on exercises, activities, and strategies to support students' physical development.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress reports.
* Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations related to physical therapy services in an educational setting.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
* Valid New York State Physical Therapist license.
* Previous experience working with children with special needs in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy techniques, interventions, and best practices.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment for all students.
Working Conditions:
* Full-time position with work primarily conducted onsite at Manhattan Star Academy.
* Some lifting, physical exertion, and movement of equipment may be required.
