We are seeking a highly skilled Physician (Psychiatry) to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of our nation's veterans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for a diverse population, including geriatric and post-deployment combat veterans.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to address a range of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, and substance abuse.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure seamless transitions between care settings.
- Participate in education and training programs to enhance clinical skills and stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer review activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a Psychiatry residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Board certification in Psychiatry or eligibility for board certification.
This position requires a high level of emotional stability, empathy, and communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
