Cosmetology Instructor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Cosmetology Teacher to join our team at La Joya ISD. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the art and science of cosmetology, while promoting a culture of excellence and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Provide individualized instruction and support to students, promoting academic achievement and personal growth.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

• 3 years of experience as a licensed Cosmetologist and a current cosmetology instructor's license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.
• A valid Texas teaching certificate in Trade & Industrial Education or a letter of acceptance from an approved educator program listing Trade & Industrial (T&I) Cosmetology.
• Knowledge of effective schools research, principles of accreditation standards, and Texas Education Agency requirements.

• Ability to interpret and implement TEA rules and regulations.

Position Details:

• Occasional prolonged hours, regular physical demands of stooping, lifting, and other strenuous demands of job performance.
