Position Summary
The Kitchen Steward / Food Preparation Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment. This position involves the cleaning and proper storage of kitchenware and assisting in food preparation tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Efficiently operate dishwashing equipment while ensuring a tidy workspace.
• Uphold a sanitary kitchen environment by participating in cleaning and organizing tasks, including equipment, storage areas, and waste management.
• Assist in the preparation of food items as directed by culinary staff.
• Follow daily prep lists to guarantee readiness for service.
• Help with the organization of food deliveries.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations while handling food products.
• Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and report any shortages to management.
• Communicate any issues regarding food products or kitchen equipment to the culinary team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in English, both oral and written, is required.
• Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) is advantageous.
• Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level is necessary for specific restaurant locations.
Work Environment
This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying conditions, including wet and hot environments.
