As a key member of the HonorHealth team, the Sterile Processing Technician PRN Float Pool is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in the decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of instruments, trays, and equipment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Decontamination and Preparation
Utilize chemicals and automated machinery to clean and decontaminate instrumentation and medical equipment.
Instrument Assembly and Packaging
Prepare trays, inspect instruments, and select appropriate wrapping materials to ensure proper sterilization and storage.
Sterilization and Storage
Follow prescribed procedures and guidelines to monitor the sterilization process and ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Case Cart Assembly and Sterile Storage
Pick case carts, order supplies, and collaborate with perioperative personnel to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
Qualifications
Education
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
