Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer I plays a vital role within the Analyzer R&D Engineering team, focusing on our proprietary diagnostics platforms. This hands-on position supports the manufacturing engineering processes and enhances the repair and servicing of our diagnostic analyzers.

Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of engineering tasks related to the repair and maintenance of analyzers, providing direct assistance to the service and repairs department.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers and manufacturing personnel to identify improvements in assembly processes and troubleshoot mechanical, electro-mechanical, thermal, or optical issues.
- Build, test, and repair mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues affecting analyzer performance.
- Follow and interpret detailed work instructions and procedures for assembly and repairs.
- Document all repairs and updates accurately.
- Assist in managing inventory effectively.
- Work independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Engage with internal and external customers to resolve analyzer-related challenges.
- Maintain tools and equipment as necessary.
- Utilize statistical analysis to monitor repair and manufacturing data.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- AAS or BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in design, manufacturing, or production environments; relevant school lab or internship experience is acceptable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with data analysis and interpretation.

Technical Skills
- Proficient in Windows, MS Office, SolidWorks, and PDM or similar software.
- Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience with tools and equipment such as jigs, clamps, soldering irons, and vacuum pumps.
- Previous exposure to regulated environments (FDA, ISO) is advantageous.
- Experience with Document Control systems is a plus.

Working Conditions
- The role requires manual dexterity for computer work and may involve sitting for extended periods, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
- The work environment is typical of an office setting, with moderate noise levels and minimal temperature extremes.
