Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting geological mapping and evaluation of extensive project areas.
  • Identifying and assessing both established and potential drilling targets within various basins.
  • Generating innovative drilling prospects while supporting the development and management of ongoing projects.
  • Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including geologists, geophysicists, land professionals, and engineers, to strategize and execute drilling initiatives.
  • Presenting and communicating project prospects to management for necessary approvals.
  • Overseeing daily geo-steering tasks in large-scale horizontal drilling operations.
  • Maintaining effective communication with mud loggers, directional drillers, and operations personnel to ensure optimal target integrity.
  • Integrating diverse data sources, such as MWD logs and mud logs, into decision-making processes.
  • Analyzing drilling outcomes and making recommendations for future planning.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Sciences; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in operations and prospect generation.
  • Experience in the Permian Basin (Delaware and/or Midland) is essential.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in geoscience software and basic office applications.
