About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our community of educators and stakeholders at Providence Public Schools. As a highly qualified and skillful teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in partnership with parents, students, and general education teachers to promote student achievement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily instruction based on Rhode Island State Standards and Providence School District Curriculum for students with disabilities.
  • Implement, develop, and case manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with State and Federal Regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities

As an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to administer district curriculum aligned with Rhode Island State Standards. You will provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in various settings, aligned to goals and objectives of their IEPs. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with general education teachers and paraprofessionals using the co-teaching model, sharing planning and instructional responsibility for all students to create the least restrictive environment.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities within regulatory timelines. This includes completing quarterly progress reports per RI Regulations and ensuring that the goals and objectives of their IEPs are implemented.

Other key responsibilities include ensuring the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment, creating and maintaining a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment, providing a classroom management/discipline plan ensuring safety at all times, and integrating technology into the instructional program.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
  • RIDE Certification Requirements: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, PK-2. ESL Certification is preferred.
Estimated Salary

$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
