Key Responsibilities- Lead and Coordinate Financial Teams: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Financial Analysts, ensuring the successful completion of financial and budgetary projects.
- Supervise Financial Projects: Supervise and coordinate financial projects and teams as assigned by the Controller, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and financial regulations.
- Develop and Implement Financial Policies: Develop, recommend, and interpret financial and budgetary policies, regulations, and procedures, ensuring compliance with school system and government regulations.
- Coordinate Budget and Expenditure Planning: Coordinate and assist school system personnel with budget and expenditure planning, ensuring effective management of financial resources.
- Prepare Financial Reports and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including budgeted revenue and expenditures, and prepare budget amendments as required.
- Audit and Analyze Financial Accounts: Audit and analyze financial accounts, identifying trends and concerns, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and Maintain Financial Systems: Develop and maintain comprehensive financial systems, including budgeting and accounting software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide Financial Guidance and Training: Provide guidance, training, and oversight to assigned Financial Analysts, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Five years of experience in accounting, budgeting, and/or financial management, with specific experience using Oracle Financials and a thorough knowledge of Oracle General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets.
- Certifications: CPA preferred.
- Skills: Thorough knowledge of accounting and routine auditing practices and procedures, current business practices, procedures, theory, and analysis techniques, funding and cost accounting systems, financial and budget analysis, effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills, effective organization and leadership skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
