Job Title: Director, Thompson Alumni Center

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of the Thompson Alumni Center. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our university community.

Job Summary:

The Director will be responsible for supervising and managing activity within the W. H. and Dorothy Thompson Alumni Center. This includes providing meeting planning and support services to university, private, and corporate rental clientele. The Director will also maintain and oversee all daily financial operations in relation to the Thompson Alumni Center, generate new business through effective marketing, and manage building maintenance and coordinate with contractors and other vendors to facilitate preventive maintenance, ongoing repairs and purchases.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage activity within the Thompson Alumni Center
  • Provide meeting planning and support services to university, private, and corporate rental clientele
  • Maintain and oversee all daily financial operations in relation to the Thompson Alumni Center
  • Generate new business through effective marketing
  • Manage building maintenance and coordinate with contractors and other vendors
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration
  • 7 years of progressive experience in event management with at least 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
