This role involves executing angiographic and specialized interventional radiology procedures, focusing on abdominal and neurovascular interventions. The position entails direct patient interaction and may include responsibilities such as medication administration in accordance with legal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and necessary equipment for catheterization procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and proper setup of instruments and devices.
  • Conduct specialized vascular and neuro imaging procedures.
  • Adjust technical parameters to achieve optimal diagnostic outcomes while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Assist physicians during complex vascular and neuro imaging tasks.
  • Administer contrast agents under physician supervision.
  • Contribute to the department's quality assurance initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain imaging equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Restock supplies as needed.
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for after-hours procedures.
  • Provide technical support in the Vascular Operating Room.
  • Mentor and train new staff and students as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to perform essential job functions effectively.
  • Competence in delivering care to diverse patient populations.
  • Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan, with the ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

Licenses Required

  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in the State of Utah.
  • ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist R.T. (R).
  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, to be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months of experience in Angiography.
  • ARRT certification as R.T. (VI).
  • ACLS certification may be required for certain departments.
