Responsibilities:
Job Summary


Responsible for a range of tasks that support the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the proper distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal regulations and in alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

Under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist, pharmacy technicians are responsible for: 1) preparing and dispensing prescribed medications for patients, 2) compounding medications as needed, 3) assisting in inventory management, 4) performing billing and reimbursement functions related to medication distribution, and 5) handling routine clerical and administrative duties.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

maintaining a clean and safe workspace; utilizing appropriate aseptic techniques; managing controlled substances in accordance with regulations; completing all required training modules; participating in regular team meetings; staying informed about departmental updates and current policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions


Prepares, distributes, and delivers medications in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and health department standards.

Performs clerical and administrative functions to support the daily operations of the pharmacy.

Maintains appropriate levels of medication and supply inventory.

Operates and oversees automated medication delivery systems and equipment.

Engages in quality assurance initiatives and maintains relevant documentation.

Qualifications:

Education/Work Experience Requirements:


Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program, along with one year of experience in a hospital setting or a relevant rotation during training that demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge preferred.


Licensure/Certification:
Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician by the relevant state board of pharmacy.

A valid state driver's license is required only for those with specific off-site responsibilities.
