Laboratory Supervisor Embryology

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Supervisor Embryology to oversee the daily operations of the Embryology and Andrology labs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in the laboratory, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory staff, including embryologists, andrologists, and laboratory assistants.
• Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
• Manage laboratory supplies and equipment, including ordering and inventory control.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and administration, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
• Develop and implement training programs for laboratory staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Monitor and report laboratory performance metrics, including turnaround times, accuracy rates, and customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
• NYS Department of Education Clinical Licensed Technologist (CLT) certification required within 3 years of being employed.
• General knowledge of operation of web-based QC platforms, electronic medical records, and document control platforms.
• Rigorous QA and QC regarding handling of specimens and extreme care and caution in labeling and handling specimens.

• Master's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
• Experience in laboratory management, quality control, and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
