COMHAR, a nonprofit community-based organization, is seeking a skilled Recovery Counselor Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our Community Integrated Recovery Center (CIRC) program, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals, families, and communities to live healthier, self-determined lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage individuals in recovery education and supports, providing stage-appropriate guidance and resources.
  • Assess individuals' strengths, abilities, and needs to develop personalized recovery plans.
  • Provide individual and group coaching, counseling, and mentoring to support individuals in achieving their recovery goals.
  • Educate individuals on evidence-based practices, such as illness management and recovery, supported employment, and family psychoeducation.
  • Collaborate with Certified Peer Specialists to encourage peer supports and services that promote recovery.
  • Support individuals in developing and practicing skills outlined in their recovery plans, including off-site coaching sessions and community integration activities.
  • Assist individuals in accessing and maintaining stable housing, and provide support in obtaining reasonable accommodations.
  • Provide individual and family therapy in individuals' homes, if necessary, to address barriers to participation.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a human service field and at least 2 years of work experience in mental health direct service; Clinical Licensure preferred.
  • Professional experience in Psych Rehab Services preferred.
  • CPRP certification preferred, to be attained within 2 years from date of hire.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge of community resources in Philadelphia.
  • Culturally informed sensitivity towards Program's target populations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
