Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tools and equipment (e.g., knives, box cutters, pricing guns) in accordance with company standards.

  • Manage timely price adjustments and in-store transfers in the absence of the department manager.
  • Oversee the removal and disposal of unsellable items from the bakery section.
  • Follow merchandising standards, including display setups, signage, and product packaging.
  • Monitor product temperatures and placements in coolers and freezers to maintain product quality.
  • Supervise portion control to ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with receiving procedures in the absence of the department manager.
  • Prepare, bake, glaze, and thaw products in line with SOPs.
  • Perform stocking tasks, ensuring proper placement and replenishment of products.
  • Comply with all company and departmental policies and SOPs.
  • Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
  • Maintain flexibility to work various shifts and potentially relocate to different store locations.
  • Physical requirements include frequent walking on wet surfaces, standing, turning, kneeling, reaching, squatting, lifting and carrying items weighing between 5 to 80 lbs., and pushing/pulling loads of 200 to 2,000 lbs., with exposure to varying temperatures. Occasional crawling, climbing, and navigating uneven surfaces may be required.
  • Must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of retail experience or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient math skills (e.g., calculating discounts, proportions, percentages).
  • Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry (e.g., calculating circumferences, volumes).
  • Able to read and interpret documents (e.g., training manuals).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with groups of customers and employees.
