Position Overview: The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO) is dedicated to providing facility management, security, emergency management, and various support services to the Legislative and Judicial Branches of government. This role is crucial during regular operations, heightened threat levels, planned events, and emergency situations. The OCSO's Emergency Management Division is tasked with enhancing the AOC's emergency management culture, embedding preparedness, training, continuity, and best practices for critical infrastructure across the AOC.
The AOC OCSO is seeking an Information Technology Technician to oversee the deployment and upkeep of the AOC's emergency management and contingency systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1 support by conducting initial troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Administer and maintain the Joint Emergency Management Notification System (JEMNS) using Blackberry AtHoc, including user management and alert template modifications.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Legislative Branch Organization partners and IT Division personnel, to address service impairments and perform upgrades.
- Manage the WebEOC application, including user support, account management, and application training.
- Assist in configuring and deploying the Joint Audible Warning System (JAWS) and maintain an inventory of JAWS end-units.
- Support the Mobile Legislative Clock System (MLCS) by troubleshooting connectivity issues during exercises or real-world deployments.
- Assist in programming and deploying telecommunications and IP-based mobility solutions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Familiarity with IT systems and Tier 1 support is essential.
- Experience with inventory management processes.
- Ability to adapt to various technologies and applications.
- Physical capability to perform tasks including lifting and moving equipment.
- Willingness to travel to multiple government facilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an Emergency Operations Center or similar emergency management setting.
- Strong soft skills, including active listening and effective communication.
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
