We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Compensation Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position will manage the day-to-day compensation operations, ensuring timely and accurate compensation processing while also assisting in the administration of the company's equity compensation plans, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Process semi-monthly compensation for all employees, ensuring accuracy in earnings, deductions, and benefits.
  • Review and verify compensation data for discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Ensure stock option activities are processed and reported timely through compensation.
  • Provide excellent customer service when responding to employee inquiries regarding compensation-related questions and discrepancies.
  • Prepare compensation journal entries, accrual calculations, and account reconciliations related to compensation activity.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to scale systems and processes and improve end-to-end compensation workflows.
  • Partner with HR on benefits and leave administration and ensure accurate results.
  • Coordinate with HR, benefits, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of compensation with other company systems.
  • Assist in the administration of employee equity compensation programs, including stock options, RSUs, ESPPs, and other related equity-based plans.
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as needed.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance of the compensation function with internal controls.
  • Ensure all compensation and equity plan activities comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of employee tax-related documents for compensation and equity.
  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation related to compensation, 401K, workers' compensation, and equity plans.
  • Ensure proper tax registration in new and existing states.
  • Review and audit quarterly and annual tax filings prepared by compensation service provider.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in compensation, tax, and equity compensation regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
