Electrical Systems Engineer

At Argus Technical Services, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our products, from power distribution to motor starters, safety devices, sensors, and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop the latest technologies in programmable controls, HMI's, VFD's, electromechanical devices, sensors, and switches.
  • Design electrical systems for our products, following the latest codes and standards.
  • Program controls and HMIs for standard and custom products.
  • Prepare electrical schematics and subpanel layouts using CAD software.
  • Develop standards for drawings and documentation, and implement testing plans.
  • Build bill of materials structures for standard product designs.
  • Provide manufacturing and maintenance support.
  • Interface with customers to ensure products meet expectations.
  • Implement continuous cost reduction and product improvements.
  • Provide technical support for Sales, Purchasing, and Service departments.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering field.
  • Proficient with PLC and microprocessor programming, embedded systems, cloud-based remote monitoring, and data acquisition hardware and software.
  • Experience with communication protocols, including Ethernet and Modbus.
  • Proficient with UL/CSA/ESA/CE standards.
  • Competent in presenting complex engineering solutions to customers with our sales team.
